Strong demand drives higher salaries, perks for Linux-trained professionals
According to a joint report issued by Dice.com and the Linux Foundation, companies are in the market for trained Linux professionals, and they're willing to pay. Citing increased adoption of Linux and the perception that good Linux talent is scarce, the report predicts that Linux hires will be even more sought after in 2013, especially relative to other IT skill areas.
With demand on the rise, companies are offering those with up-to-date training and open source expertise:
- Better salaries, bonuses and perks, such as flexible schedules
- Larger pay increases year-over-year when compared to other tech professionals
- Additional training and certification programs
