This session provides an insight into open source and what it means to a traditionally proprietary software company. It provides an overview of the legal concepts of Copyright and Licensing, Warranties, Indemnification, and Contamination. It also includes practical examples of open and proprietary code implementation, packaging and redistribution requirements and methods for examining software for potential licensing and copyright violations.
