Red Hat Training and Certification is pleased to announce the launch of its JBoss Certified Developer in Enterprise Service Bus (JCBD-ESB) exam, a certification opportunity for experienced enterprise Java and service-oriented architecture (SOA) developers. Those who pass the JCBD-ESB exam will have demonstrated the knowledge, skills and abilities to proficiently use JBoss Enterprise SOA Platform to enable communications between enterprise applications, including implementing and configuring communication end points and manipulating and transforming ESB messages.

To become JBoss ESB-certified, candidates must complete the performance-based, four-hour classroom exam (EX431), displaying real-world readiness around such skills and concepts as:

  • Basic ESB administration and configuration
  • ESB deployable packaging and configuration
  • Basic JMS configuration for ESB services
  • Configuration and use of common ESB providers and listeners such as FTP, JMS, SQL and file system-based messaging
  • ESB message structure, including validation
  • ESB message lifecycle, including transformations, actions, responses and exception handling
  • Key ESB concepts such as optimizations, transactions and security

Certification not only validates proficiency and offers industry recognition, but also provides access to a community of Red Hat certified professionals, tools and special offers such as discounts for re-certification exams. To prepare for earning the certification, Red Hat recommends its JBoss Enterprise SOA: ESB Service Implementation course, which can be taken either in a classroom (JB431) or virtual (JB431VT) setting.
