Red Hat High: Technology : Collaboration : Creativity

Red Hat High is looking for a diverse group of rising 8th and 9th grade students with an aptitude for modern media and technology.

How to Apply

Students must be nominated by their teachers to apply to Red Hat High. North Carolina students from Wake, Granville, Franklin, Nash, Wilson, Johnston, Harnett, Lee, Chatham, Alamance, Orange, and Durham counties are eligible.

If you are a teacher:

Nominate students that will engage in collaboration and grow their skills in a week-long residential camp setting. You should especially consider students that show great creative potential and an interest in technology, but perhaps lack the resources to pursue it outside of school. Fill out a nomination form to nominate a student. You can also print out an application for your student to take home.

If you are a student:

Get a teacher to nominate you! Then fill out the student section of the Red Hat High Application.

If you are a parent:

Fill out the parent section of the Red Hat High Application and mail or fax it along with the student section to Red Hat High.

Selection process

Applications will be reviewed in the order they are received. Students must be rising 8th or 9th graders this summer, and must complete and submit an application by April 20, 2007. Red Hat High will select participants based on their degree of interest in science and technology, their level of creativity. Red Hat High will accept approximately 50 students, subject to resources and available accommodations.

Red Hat High will work hard to review applications in a timely manner. Students will receive notification of acceptance no later than May 15, 2007. Students must notify Red Hat High of their intent to participate either by phone, mail, or email within one week of acceptance.

All camp details are subject to change. Please call or email Greg DeKoenigsberg with any questions:
