TPC-C is considered the most rigorous OLTP database benchmark in the industry. The latest TPC-C benchmark result released by IBM achieves > 1 million tpmC using Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) / Kernel-based Virtual Machine (KVM).

This is the 1st and only audited TPC-C result ever published using virtualization technology and delivers 88% of bare metal performance on a similar hardware platform. It demonstrates an outstanding scalability of virtualized infrastructures built on top of RHEL / KVM running on industry-standard x86 hardware.
