As of February 2010, this document shows Red Hat® Enterprise Linux® 5.3 achieving the following distinctions for the 1-terabyte TPC-H benchmark using Sybase IQ ASE v15.1:

  • Beats Microsoft Windows Server 2008 on identical hardware configuration (although Windows came in with better price/performance because of lopsided costs numbers for SQL Server versus Sybase)
  • No. 1 performance among x86 results in the nonclustered category (specifically beating a recent Windows result on exactly the same hardware)
  • No. 1 8-socket performance
