Red Hat Exchange Errata Support Policy

Overview

Red Hat Exchange offers integrated software solutions from multiple vendors including components provided by Red Hat as well as partner ISVs. While most of the components of solutions on RHX have established, fixed life cycles, some partner provided applications may include distinct release lifecycles and support policies that do not coincide with release cycles for Red Hat supplied components. While all components of the solutions are provided and supported by Red Hat, timeframes and support processes may vary by solution.

Versioning and Supportability:

Each RHX solution will be certified on explicit versions of each included component: OS (e.g. Red Hat Enterprise Linux), middleware (Application Stack/Java), and application (e.g. Alfresco). Red Hat will support the solution based on the major release version number of the partner application. Red Hat will support the most recent major release (C) and the most recent major release minus one (C-1) of the partner application.

Support lifecycle will be determined by the partner ISV. If an certified underlying Red Hat provided component, e.g. OS or middleware, retires support while the ISV application still has support (C, C-1), Red Hat will work with the ISV partner to re-certify the application on a supported underlying component.

Note: At launch all RHX solutions have been certified with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 and all ISV Applications have a single supported version (C-1). As new major versions of the applications are released, Red Hat will support 2 versions (C, C-1) for each application.

Errata Support:

Updates and errata for each component of the RHX solution will be provided by Red Hat; however, release packages and support model will vary depending on solution component:

Red Hat produced components— e.g. Red Hat Application Stack, Red Hat Enterprise Linux

Red Hat will provide errata as per our existing support policies for each components:

Partner ISVs Applications:

RHX Partner ISV applications fall outside of Red Hat's normal security response policies and process. As such, ISV partners are responsible and accountable for identifying, resolving, and updating security issues that affect their products. When a partner ISV provides updates to their application, Red Hat Exchange will certify the update and work with partner to deliver and provide customer notification via RHX.
