Course description
The Red Hat® Enterprise Deployment and Systems Management (RH402) training course explores the concepts and methods necessary for the successful large-scale deployment and management of Red Hat Enterprise Linux® systems. Experienced system administrators will learn how to implement and manage Red Hat Enterprise Linux deployments efficiently and effectively, in ways that make their systems manageable by a team of administrators.
Central to the course is the training on the use of the Red Hat Network Satellite Server for deployment and provisioning of Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems. By the end of this course, students will have built their own RPM packages and will have used Subversion to make changes to scripts.

- Managing changes with revision control software

- Construction of custom RPM packages
- Reporting and automation with Red Hat Network programming application programming interface (API)
- Deploying configuration files using Red Hat Network
- Bare-metal provisioning with the preboot execution environment (PXE)

What is a Certificate of Expertise credential?
Red Hat Certificates of Expertise are upper-level credentials available to Red Hat Certified Engineers (RHCE®) who pass upper-level performance-based exams. The certificates are incremental credentials, attached to an RHCE certification, that demonstrate skills and knowledge in specialized areas.

Red Hat offers a robust 6-month schedule of classroom training in more than 40 locations across North America. Classes are taught by Red Hat-certified instructors who actively engage students in task-focused activities, lab-based knowledge checks, and facilitative discussions.

Experienced Linux system administrators responsible for the planning, deployment, and management of multiple physical or virtualized servers.

An RHCE interested in earning a Red Hat Certificate of Expertise or a Red Hat Certified Datacenter Specialist (RHCDS) or Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA) credential.
