Red Hat and HP together provide powerful integrated solutions for customers who want the confidence of deploying Red Hat Enterprise Linux on robust certified systems with comprehensive services and seamless support.

The long-standing partnership between HP and Red Hat is based on collaborative engineering and joint marketing activities that have led to many customer successes in the financial services industry, telecommunications and the public sector. Join us at the Red Hat booth #718 at HP Technology Forum or the HP booth #G6 at the Red Hat Summit this week to talk to us about how the Red Hat and HP partnership can benefit you.

Customers choosing Red Hat Enterprise Linux as their Linux distribution find that their platform choice is often just as easy. From blades to clusters, HP ProLiant servers offer impressive manageability and availability. HP BladeSystem servers can be an ideal foundation for the simplification of datacenter environments. And HP Integrity servers offer the reliability and scalability that the most demanding Linux workloads need. The release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.2 on HP platforms brings even greater benefits to our joint customers.

Michelle Weiss, Vice President of Marketing, Business Critical Systems, HP, said:
HP Integrity servers with Red Hat Enterprise Linux have proven to be a stable and flexible foundation for enterprise solutions. Many of our HP customers are looking to support increasing database workloads, server consolidation projects, and high performance computing with solutions that are scalable, reliable and power efficient. The combination of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.2 with the HP Integrity server family from the BL860c blade server to the 64-processor Superdome server delivers these capabilities – enabling our customers to lower costs, mitigate risks and accelerate business growth.

Red Hat and HP have worked together to make the customer experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.2 on HP ProLiant servers even better than before.

HP provides industry-leading management capabilities with ProLiant servers, which enable customers to deploy, monitor and manage HP ProLiant servers running Red Hat Enterprise Linux easily. Coinciding with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.2, enhancements to the software extend this manageability to virtualization layer. In response to customer feedback, HP now provides full agent support of the host system running the Red Hat Enterprise Linux virtualization kernel.

And with the imminent release of HP SmartStart 8.10, customers can take advantage of the new modular architecture of the software to customize the level of manageability to their environment. Administrators can collect just the essential information from a server, keeping the number of management modules loaded to a minimum, or gather extensive information by loading additional modules.

HP and Red have completed three consecutive Common Criteria certifications. Most recently, HP and Red Hat received certification for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 on HP ProLiant servers, HP Integrity servers and selected workstations and notebooks for the Labeled Security Protection Profile (LSSP) at EAL4+. Common Criteria has emerged as an internationally recognized ISO standard (ISO/IEC 15408) for security in the technology industry. With the latest certification, Red Hat Enterprise Linux on HP servers has achieved one of the highest levels of assurance of any commercial operating system.

As part of its partnership with Red Hat, HP offer services for each step in the lifecycle of a Linux project, from integration to support to outsourced management. A global leader in open source services, HP offers a network of 6,500 Linux specialists, 65,000 service professionals, and more than 70,000 service partners. Customers can rest easy knowing they have a single point of accountability in HP support backed seamlessly by responsive customer engineers at Red Hat.

The results of the HP and Red Hat partnership speak for themselves. HP was one of the first to support Red Hat Enterprise Linux on Itanium-based servers. The adoption of Red Hat Enterprise Linux on HP BladeSystem servers continues to grow. In all, there are more HP servers running Red Hat than any other servers anywhere, as reported by the IDC Worldwide Quarterly Server Tracker, making HP and Red Hat the undisputed platform of choice for Linux solutions.
