Red Hat is pleased to announce that Government and Community Affairs Manager Melanie Chernoff has been recognized by the Triangle Business Journal with its 40 Under 40 Leadership Award. Chernoff, along with the other winners, was honored for her outstanding achievements and contributions to Red Hat and the Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill, North Carolina, communities.

Chernoff manages North Carolina government and community affairs for Red Hat. In that role, she represents Red Hat's policy interests in information technology and open source. She also chairs the company's corporate citizenship committee, which oversees Red Hat's worldwide charitable donations, employee matching gift program, volunteer activities, and local community relations efforts.

Finalists for the Triangle Business Journal's 40 Under 40 Leadership Awards were chosen by six judges from a candidate pool of more than 200 qualified nominees. Chernoff and the other award winners will be recognized at an award luncheon on June 12. Click here for more information on the event.

We are thrilled that one of our own has been selected for this honor. Congratulations Melanie!
