You're seeing it because your softRAID controller is newer than the
one the dmraid author had available when he wrote the code for it.

If you can fix the code yourself, send a patch to the list. 
Otherwise, you can help by sending the tar'ed and bzip2'ed metadata
files (*.dat and *.offset files) that "dmraid -rD" creates, in a file
named isw_ich7r-Josh_Lucy.tar.bz2.

Even when RAID5 is implemented, it is not going to work if dmraid does
not recognize your metadata.  If you see the "superblock version too
high" message, you would be helping out by sending metadata :-).  See
the procedure above - label the file as per the mentioned scheme, but
use the manufacturer and model number of your softRAID controller plus
your name so it can easily be traced to relevant conversation here.
