Inconsistancies between 1.0.0.rc14 and 1.0.0.rc15 and Intel Software RAID metadata.

We should probably get that patch applied upstream then, and I'm also 
still wondering about the whitespace strip removal from scsi but not 
ata.  They should probably be consistent.
