Comment:

 I just checked with the glibc sources, and glibc only expects an integer
 there. It silently ignores the decimal dot and fraction. Though the code
 has one of the ominous 'print a warning here?' comments.

 I am very inclined to close this as 'wontfix'; another option would be to
 silently supress the decimal part, just as glibc does; how did you run
 into this ?
