egcs on AXP (was Re: blackbox RPM)

Some people say that egcs-1.0.3 is the best (for Linux/AXP).  I don't know
if I'd agree, personally.  egcs-1.0.3 has a bug in the Haifa scheduler,
which is I think a nice win on Alpha.  I think the C++ compiler is better
in 1.1+, also.  Anyhow, I'm using the egcs-1.1.1 pre-release on my
Linux/AXP.  I got the RPM's from rawhide.redhat.com (if you plan on doing
it, you'll also need the newest libstdc++ RPM).  YMMV.
