MP3 playback on AC1.0

I finally got around to installing AC1.0 on my SX last evening (it finished
up after I had gone to bed).  Quick glance at the system this morning looked
pretty good except...

I can't play my MP3s!  

I have tried XMMS and Rythmbox.
I know that FC3 played MP3s when I setup my nephew's computer.

HELP!
