Shaving mp3s?

OK, you limit yourself by insisting on mp3, but I believe wedit supports
mp3? Chuck (or someone) will correct me if I'm wrong. And, I believe you
can do it with ecasound, as well.
I'll stop right there because I avoid mp3 like the plague.
