As others have answered, the primary difference is philosophical. And,
the primary outcome of this philosophical difference is the license by
which you get the software. And, that's a huge difference that should
not be underestimated. To learn more, look at:

Indeed, I'll go out on a limb and say that, imho, accessibility would
have been first developed on Unix had the cost of Unix hardware been
affordable in the late 1970's and 1980's. But, it wasn't affordable to
the ordinary computer user until Linux came along in the 1990's.

As for searching, your best bet, even for searching the blinux archives,
will probably be Google. You can restrict your Google results to Linux
by using:

http://www.google.com/linux
