ubuntu install question

Will it detect SBLive value cards for sound? I should take that hastle of a 
beast out of the old box and buy another Turtle Beach Montego DDL as I know 
Oralux detects that without a hitch in the machine that only works with 
windows because of the network card. I wonder how easy it is in this Ubunto 
that's accessible to use something besides Festival if I buy a better synth, 
or if maybe I can just use my Double Talk PC?
