vmware

Hi,
I'm interested about vmware as well.
I'm thinking to run another version of linux under fedora core 5 but
I don't understand how can I read the screen during the installation.
Will brltty work during the installation using vmware?
Does vmware work under console or does it work under x?
are there other best emulator to do that thing?
