The installer will detect your CPU and install the Athlon optimized kernel.
However, there have been some cases (including mine) where there are some
hardware problems and the optimized kernel will not boot Linux. You will
notice the problem after choosing linux from LILO or GRUB. You should look
for an Oops around about the time the system just stops booting. You should
then install with 'boot: linux noathlon' and include the noathlon parameter
as a kernel option when you choose your boot loader during the
installation. Try it the normal way first, though, as this has not affected
all Athlon users.
