I looked into this, and it's to do with multilib brokenness.  To
workaround multilib brokenness in this case, I do:

  # yum install \*guestf\*.x86_64

(or you can manually exclude *.i[3456]86 in yum.conf), and libguestfs
installs perfectly happily.
