      Some defensive programming around kernel options rendering, based on a error report to et-mgmt-tools.  I have not been able to reproduce the actual error.
      sseago's patch to set_kernel_options, plus some additional error handling around kernel options processing.
      Kickstart metadata items are seperated by whitespace, not commas.
