ext3 assertion failure



While doing this on an 80gig ibm ide drive:
dd if=/dev/cdrom of=cd.iso

I got the following assertian failure

The partition was no longer accessable, and required a reboot to fix
the journal for the partition recovered cleanly

a forced fsck returned no errors, but froze after the summary printout
after killing fsck, I was unable to mount the partition untill rebooting
