Site note to this discussion: I just noticed in Rik van Riel's blog on
Fedora Poeple that there is now a document titled "How to merge code
upstream" on kernelnewbies.org; see

for details. It lists some of the reasons why having modules integrated
in the kernel.org kernel is a good thing.
