Re: [Ambassadors] LinuxTag 2007 Press Release in English

please cancel the workshop with openSuSE in EVERY Press release. Neither
in German nor in English; THIS is a FIRST meeting between both
Distribution and NOT public; this is a workshop for insiders ...
MAYBE we'll announce what we'll decide at Linuxtag, but till today there
is nothing to report!

Thanks for your attention ...

Thanks

Gerold

LinuxTag will take place from May 30th to June 2nd on the fairground under the radio tower in Berlin. After two FUDCons earlier this year, one in Brussels during FOSDEM, and one in Boston, this LinuxTag FUDCon will be the third this year already.

Since the General Availability date of Fedora 7 coincides exactly with LinuxTag, it will also be the first public annunciation in Europe. Differently then with past meetings no Fedora DVDs will be distributed amongst interested visitors, but a local installation server will be available for direct use.

The presentation of Fedora on Apple hardware, a Troubleshooting Contest and Virtualization on the Fedora booth finishes the Fedora Project program. Visitors will have a chance to meet Max Spevack, the Fedora Project Leader, amongst other considerable people.

> The Fedora Project is a collection of projects sponsored by Red Hat (http://redhat.com) and developed as a partnership between the open source community and Red Hat engineers. The goal of Fedora is the rapid progress of free and open source software and content. Public forums. Open processes. Rapid innovation. Meritocracy and transparency. All in pursuit of the best operating system and platform that free software (http://www.fsf.org/licensing/essays/free-sw.html) can provide.

This is celebrated with an installation party, in order to give the visitors the possibility to install the latest Fedora release. The FUDCon, OLPC, Clustered volume management, SELinux and other current topics covers the developer and user meeting. As speakers Max Spevack, the Fedora Project Leader and further considerable persons appear. The joint effort Workshop with openSUSE - to strengthen the co-operation of the projects - forms a further highlight of the participation of the Fedora Projects at the LinuxTag.
