I agree with not removing the ambassadors, maybe simply marking them as
inactive?

I feel that it would be akin to developing software and abandoning it
later... Then someone comes along and removes your name from the credits
simply because you're not actively developing it anymore.

What would the inactive ambassadors have to do in order to regain their
active status again? Re-sign the CLA? Simply say "I'm here now"?
