Ok, thanks for the information..

I upgraded to yum-3.0.1-2.fc6.noarch.rpm from a local
fedora/updates/testing/6/i386/ mirror and it seems to work ok now
(dependency checks are finished), pungi is now doing other things :)

I'll let you know on the progress.
