Das interessante sollte in der /var/log/Xorg.0.log stehen. Dort sind
dann Einträge mit Markern gekennzeichnet:
 (--) probed, (**) from config file, (==) default setting,
   (++) from command line, (!!) notice, (II) informational,
   (WW) warning, (EE) error, (NI) not implemented, (??) unknown.


Das, was zu einem Fehler führt also mit "EE" und am Ende nehme ich an.
