Probleme mit yum

Hallo zusammen,

ich wollte heute über Terminal die neuen nvidia-Treiber installieren, da
wurde mir folgendes ausgegeben:

Existing lock /var/run/yum.pid: another copy is running as pid 2709.
Another app is currently holding the yum lock; waiting for it to exit...
Another app is currently holding the yum lock; waiting for it to exit...
Another app is currently holding the yum lock; waiting for it to exit...

Die letzte Zeile setzt sich immer weiter fort und ich wüsste gern wie
ich das abbrechen kann. Da ich das als root gemacht hab, will ich nicht
einfach das Fenster schließen, da man sich ja von der Konsole immer mit
exit abmelden soll.

Weiß jemand auf die Schnelle Rat?
