Weil Du noch in Yum bist, und yum wartet, bis der yum-updatesd fertig
ist. Also drück mal STRG+C und dann nochmal

service yum-updatesd stop

Nein

Nein, die Programme werden in der Rwegel mit beendet. Allerdings:
bestätigen Ausnahmen ja bekanntlich die Regel, beispielsweise wenn Du
mangels Rechten einen Prozess nicht beenden kannst. Nachschauen, was
läuft, kannst Du mit "ps -A".
