>From a quick test, it looks like it works.  And 
  sed -i 's/UMASK *077/UMASK 066/g' /etc/login.defs
seems like a workable sed invocation.  If no one sees a reason not to,
I'll get this added later (hoping to get Colin's abstraction bits in
first)
