Good news ...
 
I've tracked down the installpath bug (some nasty hard coded references
that blatantly ignored opts) so phase one is now complete.
 
Phase two is post-install scripts for baseline configuration. ETA - one or
two days depending on how much free time I've got.
 
I'm estimating this whole project will be wrapped up in a week.
