All packages (well, most, there are a few exceptions still) are
maintained in CVS and the plan is to get this moved external.  Then you
could either just anoncvs checkout the package (which then doesn't
require pulling the tarball) or look at the cvsweb setup that will
almost certainly happen at the same time.
