up2date: Too many open files?

I see the following errors when invoking up2date on a vanilla Fedora
Core Test 2 subscribed to RHN (Severn Beta 2 and Severn Beta 2 Update
channels):

These errors appear after up2date has upgraded itself to a newer version
than the one that comes with plain Fedora Core Test 2. Then, up2date
hangs.

Any ideas? Should I bug a report?
