Unless inclusion of such old changelog entries is intended, they
could be stripped off quite easily with something like:

sed -e '/\* [a-zA-Z]\{3\} [a-zA-Z]\{3\} [0-9]\{2\} \(200[0-2]\|199?\).*/,99999 d'

Of course, they are more ways to do it (including more complex ways).
