What we can't do is come up with the definition of what to trim...

So when you have an initial set of suggestions for changes, lets
discuss the suggestions of changes here.

Just post them as
# CONFIG_FOO is not set
CONFIG_BLAH=128
etc, for discussion.

Well, Red Hat isn't going to create the set of suggested changes.
We can review suggestions and if some general agreement is reached
we can help keep a config file in sync because we have the
infrastructure to do it without too much pain; as I said before,
that would be opportunistic and when it broke, we wouldn't know
until the breakage was reported, and then we'd want to see the
suggested fix from RULE.
