RFC: root/non-root bash prompts different colours?

If you have several terminals opened (some root, some user) you will easily 
distinguish by $/#?
Have you never been in a hurry?

I find it very heplfull if root/non-root prompt can be more easily 
distinguished. (I would prefer a two-liner for root)
