Now I can't, but tomorrow (CET time) I'll try to connect a serial cable 
and catch the kernel panic output. Could you remember to me the kernel
parameters for console redirection to serial connection?

At present it works with 2.6.1-1.47, but I tried different version
newer than 2.6.1-1.47 (I'm not sure about numbers probably I tried .57 
or .53  ... I think the latest public available kernel before .61 is ok) 
and it works too.
