I am not clear. I am not talking about version-release of rpm.
Current rpm name/version/release can stay in place :
Paquet : kernel-2.6.6-1.435.i586.rpm : uname -r : 2.6.6-1.435-i586
Paquet : kernel-2.6.6-1.435.i685.rpm : uname -r : 2.6.6-1.435-i686

Now you can install kernel-2.6.6-1.435.i586.rpm and
kernel-2.6.6-1.435.i685.rpm (perhaps with "rpm -i --nodeps" but it's not
a problem for kernel developers).
