The new and improved Mesa, is so dramatically improved, that it takes
up a lot more space now, but provides a never ending experience of
stunning graphics quality and performance that has never before been
seen.

Ok, that might not be completely true. ;o)

The mesa stuff isn't getting stripped properly.  There's a bug on it
in bugzilla already.
