utempter (kinda) needed by kdelibs

Now what?  Live with the kdelibs' reduced functionality?  restore utempter?  

The last utempter changelog included the comment:
* Wed Jul 26 2006 Mike A. Harris <mharris at redhat.com> 0.5.5-8
...
- Add Provides: libutempter to runtime package, and 
  Provides: libutempter-devel
  to devel subpackage to help ease transition from utempter to the new
  libutempter package which will replace this one soon.
...

So is there still plans (still?) for libutempter to make an appearance in
Core?
