Current Moodle maintainer here.

Is it worth that much of a change to upstream?  The list of langpack dates
is also manually maintained in the spec.  I thought it was our goal to
break from upstream as little as possible.  I'm open to suggestions, but
to me it seems just stripping moddle from the script would be the
simplest.
