As I understand it, both of them rely on argyll for icc file creation,
so they are indeed closely related. With Little CMS and its derivative
lprof I think that's the alpha and omega of Linux color management.

Argyll is sufficient for my simple needs, but I guess that if it went in
that'll motivate people to review your packages (I dislike the non-GTK
widgets the others use)

IMHO it should as it's as close to a standard dir as we'll get from icc
folks.
