Improvement to rescue mode?

My immediate need is this.  I have a system with a pair of scsi disks.  It
also has 1 SATA drive.  For some reason I can't understand, the SATA drive
is not seen by the BIOS, so I can't boot off it, but Fedora has no trouble
understanding that it's there and is happy to install /boot onto it.  Of
course, I have no way to boot it.

I haven't tried to make a boot floppy in years.  Any hints?
