We might be in hot water still, but at least liability could possibly not be claimed if it is in the Terms of Use of this community list of repositories...

Maybe web2.0 is the solution :) . What if we have a way to query a list
of repos that is stored on a central site that can be appended to by
anyone? Then we might be able to disclaim responsibility for pointing it
out.
