some tasks I won't be able to complete

Hello,

I did some things in fedora that I will not be able to finish, I thought
it was a good idea to list them so that these are not forgotten.

* most important, I begun reviewing Mattias Ellert submissions of globus
and associated packages
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=453847
I think that it would be nice if somebody continued the reviews. Mattias
already helped me in the cernlib packaging, I think he should be
sponsored, and I wanted to sponsor him after his first package was
accepted. I am not in position to sponsor anybody now, though.

* There are 3 bugs opened for smtpdaemon -> server(smtp). Keeping
smtpdaemon for backward compat is right, it is just that it shouldn't
be forgotten in the future:

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=438081
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=438080

* I think that fcron should replace cronie as the default scheduler
(though cronie should be kept too).

* it would be nice if somebody moved forward the mail(local) virtual
provides stuff, if it doesn't fly by itself:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=472710

* I used to jump on all the reviews were the name seemed too generic to
me (I am not the only one to do that, though).
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/PackageMaintainers/Packaging_Tricks#Use_of_common_namespace
Tibbs said he wanted to make a guideline. I think that distributions
should really coordinate to sanitize the namespaces, using the
distributions mailing list would certainly be interesting in that
regard.

* I think that it would be nice to coordinate and document all the
virtual provides:
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/PackagingDrafts/ProvidesList
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/VilleSkyttä/VirtualProvides

* I attach a script I used once to check how static packages are used.
It is certainly very sub-optimal. Still open issues from that time:
I found one real bug:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=428384
and there is a package for which I couldn't convince the packager to
requires -devel and not -static
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=441814

* consolekit support integration:
Most important bug:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=452156
Then xdm support for xdmcp:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=237621
The wdm bug (information on that bug is obsolete, better look at the
above
bugs):
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=228079

For reference other related bugs:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=430388
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=228110

* I have 2 package submissions opened (I'll close them in few weeks if
nobody steps up):
cnvgrib https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=257781
g2lib https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=257761
