That's not true - except to the extent that you haven't been convincing 
about understanding it yourself.  So far I just haven't seen any 
discussion that recognizes that a machine may have multiple devices and 
multiple sessions and the relationships may not be knowable ahead of time.

Does that include new ones and bluetooth associations?  And what about 
network logins and X sessions not tied to known hardware but that use 
the audio devices?
