How about shipping a DVD which can be used on one machine to bring up
a bunch of machines that can only boot from some smaller medium?  If
you're really concerned for the educational market, try to think about
how it tends to work.  Think donated machines that might not even have
CD drives much less DVDs, and talk to Warren, Eric, and the other LTSP
folks.
