Here my mindflashes:

1.) It may be nice to have a frontend for createrepo to create a
repository on a media
for offline installation/updates.

2.) yum should be able to unterstand uri likes file://...

3.) It shoulb be able to put i yum.repo file on a media and specified
this file as

# yum --repo <repofile> ...
