Sorry for mentioning you although you were not really involved in this
decision. Kevin and me talked about that during our latest Xfce SIG
meetings while you haven't been around. I know it's hard/impossible for
you to attend the meetings at the current time slot but we have offered
several alternatives and haven't heard anything back from you after my
last suggestion (which was UTC 18:00).

I did several mockus [1] but in the end Kevin and I agreed that we
should not follow the Xubuntu path and instead stick close to upstream.
If someone wants something different, he can easily change the panel
layout.

IIRC your RFE [2] was about icons for suspend, hibernate ans switch
users but not about the basic panel layout.

As current screenshots of Xfce 4.6 [3] basically still show the same
layout there seems to be agreement about this among the Xfce developers.
So if somebody thinks that the current layout has nothing to do with
usability IMO he really should push this discussion upstream.
